Developed by LamarSystems, the Klearlink Video Transport System
(VTS) provides a high quality, affordable solution for video compression
and transport across a Wireless Broadband Platform. The system utilizes
an MPEG2 DSP codec for the full D1 resolution image.
Alternately, Lamar is able to offer the M4 MPEG4 DSP codecs within the
Klearlink system to provide multiple D1 streams over one Backhaul Unit.
A hardware-based Video over IP product that digitally compresses and transmits video and data (optionally 44.1 Khz Audio) over standard IP data networks between analog cameras, analog monitors and software
viewing applications. Encoder and decoder products are available as independent VTS modules, or custom-configured as an integrated codec unit. In addition, PC-based software is available for streaming, viewing, storing and playback on a Windows-based PC.
The IP Backhaul Unit (BH)
The Backhaul Unit (BH) is a point-to-point OFDM radio that is used to carry traffic to and from APs. In the event that no convenient fiber or cable connects are available for an AP, a BH will be required. Each BH communicates to a single BH utilizing a highly directional antenna. The BH is offered with either an RF bit rate of 40 Mbps with a throughput of 20 Mbps. With a maximum range of approximately 20 miles. The BH uplink/downlink bandwidth ratio for a single BH link is configurable by the operator. Each BH requires a separate 110 or 220V power supply and associated RJ45 connector to power the BH.
